Code of Conduct
This Code of Conduct has been approved by the Principal, the Staff, the Students and the School Council.
It is the responsibility of every teacher to read the Code and to discuss it with his or her class.
Students are encouraged to go through the Code with their parents.
Our Code is based on three principles:
Respect
Responsibility
Safety
It applies to activities at school, on the bus, and during school trips and events.
It is the responsibility of everyone at Central-students, staff and visitors alike, to be aware of and to adhere to this Code.
While the Guidelines, Expectations, and Consequences are addressed primarily to students, the rationale, the principles and the spirit of the Code apply to every person connected with Central, and should, therefore, dictate the standards of behaviour for us all.
Guidelines
- Be respectful of others
Be positive and thoughtful of others. Smile. Remember to use words like please, thank you, and excuse me. Treat students and adults as you would like to be treated. Be polite and co-operate with lunch supervisors, bus drivers, crossing guards, care taking staff and secretaries. Be helpful to supply teachers. Greet visitors cheerfully.
- Be respectful of the school
Keep your building and school yard clean. Put litter in the trash cans. Recycle. Keep your belongings tidy. Return library and class materials to their proper places.
- Be respectful of yourself
Show pride in yourself. Dress neatly and suitably. Use appropriate language. Keep clean. Show others that you care about them, about your school, and about yourself.
